Basketball Game Preview: Delta Saints vs. Esparto Spartans

The Delta Saints are taking a road trip to challenge the Esparto Spartans at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Delta will bounce into Tuesday's game after beating Fortune Early College, who they had gone 0-3 against in their three prior meetings. Delta came out on top against Fortune Early College by a score of 48-35 on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Saints.

Meanwhile, Esparto came into Tuesday's contest having lost seven straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They walked away with a 34-23 win over Elite on Tuesday. The match marked the Spartans' most dominant victory of the season.

Delta has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 18.9 points per game. As for Esparto, their win ended a 14-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-11.

Everything came up roses for Delta against Esparto when the teams last played back in January, as the squad secured a 75-4 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Delta since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
