Softball Recap: Piedmont Takes a Loss

Carl Albert hit Piedmont with a four-run third inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Wildcats fell 6-3 to the Titans. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Titans apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Lailah Nelson was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. That hit marked the first that she has got this season. Kai Hatchett was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Piedmont's defeat dropped their record down to 23-11. As for Carl Albert, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 22-10.

Piedmont does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Carl Albert, they will host Choctaw at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Titans 3.3, the Yellowjackets 1.3) so any runs scored will be well earned.
