Recap: Bishop McCort Crushers vs. Chestnut Ridge Lions
Make it ten blowout wins for the Bishop McCort Crushers this season. They blew past Chestnut Ridge, posting a 66-28 win on the road. The victory was just business as usual for Bishop McCort, who after 14 games remain undefeated this season.
Leading Bishop McCort to victory were Gianna Gallucci and Cami Beppler. Gallucci scored 21 points along with six rebounds and three steals, while Beppler scored 21 points along with five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Beppler has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Zucco, who scored ten points along with four steals.
Chestnut Ridge's loss on Wednesday came despite strong showings from Isabella Hillegass and Ashlie Weaver. Hillegass scored eight points along with eight rebounds and two steals, while Weaver scored 13 points along with six rebounds. Hillegass hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for three straight games.
Bishop McCort's victory was their 11th straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-0. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 24.55 points. As for Chestnut Ridge, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bishop McCort's road trip will continue as they head out to face Tyrone at 7:15 p.m. on January 19th. Tyrone will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 459th, while Bishop McCort is ranked 14th). As for Chestnut Ridge, they will head out on the road to take on Bishop Carroll at 7:15 p.m. on Monday.
