Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask San Gorgonio). They pulled ahead with a 53-52 photo finish over the Kaiser Cats on Friday. The win was some much needed relief for the Spartans as it spelled an end to their seven-game losing streak.

San Gorgonio had a senior duo take command as Star Ramos posted 18 points in addition to six rebounds and five assists and Jazmin Benson dropped a double-double on 14 points and 17 boards. With that strong performance, Benson is now averaging an impressive 8.4 boards per game. Another player making a difference was Grace Sanders, who had four points and seven rebounds.

San Gorgonio's victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-17. As for Kaiser, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season.

San Gorgonio will face off against Grand Terrace at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Kaiser does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
