Basketball Recap: Sunnyside Extends Road Winning Streak to Four

Sunnyside had won three straight road games and Ruby Cartwright did her part to make it four on Thursday. The Sunnyside Wildcats took their contest with ease, bagging a 50-23 victory over the Madera Coyotes thanks in part to Cartwright, who went 9 for 19 en route to 24 points along with eight steals and seven assists. That makes it 13 consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Sunnyside's points.

Another player making a difference was Leah Garcia, who posted 11 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals. That's the most points she has posted since back in December of 2023.

Sunnyside is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-12 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 23.7 points. As for Madera, their loss dropped their record down to 4-13.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sunnyside has already played their next game (against Justin Garza), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Madera has also has no score uploaded for their next contest, this one against Sanger West.
