Basketball Recap: Franklin Find Success

Franklin posted their closest victory since December 14, 2024 on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged the Cosumnes Oaks Wolfpack out 33-31. This was a revenge game for the Wildcats: when they faced off against the Wolfpack back in January, they had to take a 47-37 defeat.

Several Wolfpack players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Caitlin Subejano, who posted 21 points and four steals. Subejano is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played. Sophia Mendenhall was another key player, putting up seven points and ten boards.

Franklin's record now sits at 5-15. As for Cosumnes Oaks, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-12 record this season.

Franklin wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 52-51 loss against Pleasant Grove on the 31st. As for Cosumnes Oaks, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 63-42 defeat against Sheldon on the 31st.
