Basketball Recap: Poly Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Abby Folsom and Giuliana Hychko

Poly played a tough game on Wednesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against the Arcadia Apaches, falling 58-37. The Bears were down 50-30 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Giuliana Hychko and Abby Folsom certainly did their best on Wednesday to avoid the loss. Hychko posted 14 points and three steals, while Folsom had 12 points.

Catelyn Chen was a one-woman wrecking crew For Arcadia. as she went 6-for-9 to rack up 19 points and seven steals. Those seven steals gave Chen a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Nikki Tran, who scored nine points along with five assists and five boards.

Poly's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Arcadia, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Poly didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 56-33 defeat against South Pasadena on the 28th. As for Arcadia, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 42-39 victory against King on the 28th.
