Soccer Game Preview: Schaumburg vs. Hoffman Estates

The Schaumburg Saxons will face off against the Hoffman Estates Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Schaumburg will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

Schaumburg's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over Conant. Schaumburg's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last three contests.

Meanwhile, Hoffman Estates gave up the first goal on Friday, but they didn't let that get them down. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Wheeling 4-3. Given Hoffman Estates' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 126th, while Wheeling are ranked 270th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Hoffman Estates now has a winning record of 8-7-2. As for Schaumburg, their win bumped their record up to 8-4-2.

Schaumburg skirted past Hoffman Estates 2-1 when the teams last played back in September. Will the Saxons repeat their success, or do the Hawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
