Softball Recap: Worth County Comes Up Short

Worth County extended their losing streak to four on Thursday, dropping them down to 4-9. They came up short against the Thomasville Bulldogs, falling 8-0. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, with their most recent defeat being a 7-5 loss on Thursday.

As for Thomasville, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-6. Considering they have won six matchups by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

For Thomasville's part, not much got past Khiler Oehlhof, who gave up just a hit to keep Worth County off the board. Oehlhof has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Cece Myers, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Reichert, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.

Looking ahead, Worth County will face off against Bainbridge at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Bearcats have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.31 runs per game on average), something the Rams will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Thomasville, they will challenge Seminole County at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
