Recap: Wasco Tigers vs. Chavez Titans

The Wasco Tigers won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Tuesday. They were outmatched by Chavez at home and fell 56-28. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Wasco of the 63-39 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January.

Wasco lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Cassandra Evangelista, who scored 11 points. Karly Perez was another key contributor, scoring six points.

Chavez's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Chloe Lopez, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Lopez has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Hannah Diaz, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds.

Wasco dropped their record down to 4-19 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Chavez, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 11-9 record this season.

Wasco will be playing at home against Delano at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Wasco is facing Delano at the right time seeing as Delano is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Chavez, they will head out on the road to challenge Taft at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Chavez will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Taft surely won't give up without a fight.
