La Conner took a 13-run defeat the last time they faced off against Concrete, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Braves sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 14-13 victory over the Lions on Thursday. With that win, the Braves brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

Jade Souryavong and Angie Pena did most of the damage at the plate: Souryavong scored two runs and stole four bases while going 3-for-5, while Pena scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Souryavong also put up a double, which was her first of the season. Rachel Bill was another key player, scoring a run and stealing four bases while going 2-for-4.

La Conner's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Concrete, their loss was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-3.

Coincidentally, La Conner and Concrete will both be playing Coupeville the next time they take the field. The Braves will host the Wolves at 4:00 p.m. on the 15th, while the Lions will head out to face them at 3:00 p.m. on the 22nd.
