Recap: Manteca Buffaloes vs. Rodriguez Mustangs

The Manteca Buffaloes had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They enjoyed a cozy 58-43 win over Rodriguez. Given Manteca's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 160th, while Rodriguez is ranked 795th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Jada Ikharo continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Izabella Sanchez, who scored seven points along with eight rebounds and four steals.

Manteca pushed their record up to 14-3 with that win, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.2 points per game. As for Rodriguez, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-11.

Manteca won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Oakdale at 7:30 p.m. on January 4th. Rodriguez will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against Armijo at 7:30 p.m. on January 10th.
