Lewis Central took a eight-run  loss the last time they faced off against Sioux City East, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Titans had just enough and edged out the Black Raiders  12-11 on Wednesday. The pitching woes were  uncharacteristic for the Titans, who until this  matchup were averaging 3.86  runs allowed.
 Cami Damgaard made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she  tossed six innings while giving up  three earned  (and two unearned) runs off   six  hits. Damgaard was also big at the plate,  going 2-for-5 with two  runs, two  doubles,  and one  RBI. That's the most  doubles  she has posted  over her last 17  contests.
 In other batting news,  Aubree Davis was  incredible,  getting on base  in three of her five plate appearances with one  home run, two  runs,  and one  stolen base.  Camryn King was another key player,  going 3-for-5 with three  RBI, one  stolen base,  and one  run.
 Lewis Central  hit smart and  finished the game with only two  strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least two batters  in three consecutive  games.
Lewis Central has  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won nine of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-7 record  this season. The  wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Sioux City East,  this is the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 12-6.
 Looking ahead, Lewis Central will square off against Kuemper at 5:00  p.m.  on Friday. Sioux City East has  already played their next  contest (against Le Mars), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
