Baseball Recap: Wheeler Takes a Loss

Monday just wasn't the day for Wheeler's offense. They lost 12-0 to the Bacon Academy Bobcats on Monday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Lions of the 13-5 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2025.

Wheeler has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season. As for Bacon Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-7-1 record this season.

Wheeler will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Stonington at 4:00 p.m. The Bears' pitching crew has only allowed 2.5 runs per game this season, so the Lions' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Bacon Academy, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 12-0 win against Montville on the 18th.
