Baseball Recap: Dodge County Find Success

While Dodge County's win against Southwest wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Dodge County Indians won by a run and slipped past the Southwest Patriots 6-5. The victory continues a trend for the Indians in their matchups with the Patriots: they've now won nine in a row.

Holden Thomas made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Dodge County is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-7 otherwise. Thomas was even better at the plate, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-4. What's more, he posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.

Thomas wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Gabe Yeomans, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Yeomans also hit a triple, marking his first of the season.

Dodge County's record is now 5-8. As for Southwest, they dropped their record down to 3-7 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Dodge County beat Southwest by a score of 10-0 later that day.
