Soccer Recap: Newton Comes Up Short

Newton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Rockdale County Bulldogs. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Rams of the 2-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2023.

Newton's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Rockdale County, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to a perfect 2-0.

Newton will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on South Gwinnett at 7:30 p.m. on February 25th. Rockdale County also won't see the pitch for a while: their next matchup is against Grovetown at 7:30 p.m. on February 25th.
