Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask San Jacinto Valley Academy). They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Santa Rosa Academy Rangers 59-18. The Wolves have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matches by 20 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Kaahliyah Lacy, who dropped a triple-double on 21 points, 12 rebounds, and ten steals. That makes it five consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of San Jacinto Valley Academy's points. Reina De La Cruz was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on ten points and nine boards.

San Jacinto Valley Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive rebounds. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their offensive board total in three consecutive contests.

Santa Rosa Academy's loss came despite strong showings from Maggie Lall and Madison Flores. Lall posted nine points, while Flores put up two points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Flores has been hot, having posted eight or more boards the last six times she's played.

San Jacinto Valley Academy's victory bumped their record up to 12-7. As for Santa Rosa Academy, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-17.

San Jacinto Valley Academy has already played their next game, a 53-14 win against Desert Chapel on the 27th. As for Santa Rosa Academy, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Lucerne Valley at 6:00 p.m. on February 3rd.
