Football Recap: Lincoln's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Three + How To Watch

It's playoff time, and Lincoln had no trouble coming through when it counted. They took down the San Marcos Knights 49-35 on Friday. The victory was familiar territory for the Hornets, who have now won three matchups in a row.

It was another big night for Junior Curtis, who rushed for 322 yards and three scores while picking up 11.5 yards per carry. His longest rush was for an incredible 77 yards. Rashad Robinson was another major influence, as he rushed for 87 yards and ran in a TD.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Lincoln was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 475 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since the start of last season.

Another reason for the win was Lincoln's imposing defensive line, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. San Marcos' QB won't forget Siosi Tuavao anytime soon given he sacked him twice. Lincoln received some extra help from Alvin Gaston, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

When it comes to explaining why San Marcos lost, don't look at Kreet Makihele. Despite the final result, he threw for 263 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also punched in one TD on the ground. Zamar Reese handled things on the ground, rushing for 81 yards.

Lincoln's record is now 10-2. As for San Marcos, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-5.

Lincoln has already played their next game, a 41-29 loss against Granite Hills on the 29th. San Marcos does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
