East Jackson is preparing for their first region matchup of the season on Monday. They are taking a road trip to face off against the Hebron Christian Lions at 6:00 p.m. East Jackson is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.6 runs per game this season.

East Jackson is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering West Hall just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Friday. They came up short against the Spartans, falling 18-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Eagles have suffered since February 18th.

Drew Richardson made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored three runs and stole Three bases. while going 2-for-2. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. Bryse Patterson was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Hebron Christian duked it out with Duluth on Thursday. Hebron Christian was the clear victors by a 9-3 margin over Duluth. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Lions.

Dean Livingston was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base. Destin Matthews also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Hebron Christian's record is now 7-5. As for East Jackson, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-5.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. East Jackson has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Hebron Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.9 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.

East Jackson came up short against Hebron Christian in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 7-2. Can East Jackson avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
