Volleyball Recap: Lake Nona Wins Going Away Against Tohopekaliga + How To Watch

Lake Nona had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They blew past the Tohopekaliga Tigers 3-0 on Thursday. That three set margin sets a new team best for the Lions this season.

Lake Nona never let Tohopekaliga on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-9, 28-26.

Lake Nona's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jocelyn Serra, who had 19 digs and two aces. That's the most digs Serra has posted over her last nine matchups. The team also got some help courtesy of Leilany Starling, who had 11 digs and three aces.

They weren't the only good server: Lake Nona was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 11 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in five consecutive contests.

Lake Nona's victory bumped their record up to 4-8. As for Tohopekaliga, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Looking ahead, Lake Nona will be playing at home against Harmony at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Tohopekaliga, they will venture away from home to take on Lake Buena Vista at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
