Bridge City had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They claimed a resounding 46-14 victory over the Buna Cougars. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 33-6.

Hudson Hoffman was a one-man wrecking crew as he threw for 161 yards and three TDs while completing 76.9% of his passes, and also punched in a pair of scores on the ground. Another player making a difference was Ashton Sumrall, who rushed for 84 yards and one touchdown on only 11 carries.

Looking ahead, Bridge City will face off against Kirbyville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Buna, they will take on Brazos at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
