Lafayette County has gone 8-2 against Lexington recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Huskers will venture away from home to square off against the Minutemen at 5:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Lafayette County came out on top against Knob Noster on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive 12-run third inning. The Huskers blew past the Panthers 18-3. The Huskers haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Lafayette County let Chloe Weddle and Kyamila Huseynov run wild. Weddle went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI, while Huseynov went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave Huseynov a new career-high. Lorelei Weaver also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.
Meanwhile, Lexington got the win against St. Pius X on Wednesday by a conclusive 13-4. The result was nothing new for the Minutemen, who have now won six contests by seven runs or more so far this season.
Audrie Bollmeyer was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits. Bollmeyer was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Lexington got a massive performance out of Laniya Davis, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Hunter Adkins was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
Lexington was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .571. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive matchups.
Lafayette County's record is now 10-11. As for Lexington, their record now sits at 11-9.
Lafayette County couldn't quite get it done against Lexington when the teams last played on Monday as they fell 7-3. Can the Huskers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
