Softball Recap: Fort Dodge Comes Up Short

Fort Dodge has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.52 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Saturday. They came up short against the Ankeny Centennial Jaguars, falling 11-2. The defeat continues a trend for the Dodgers in their meetings with the Jaguars: they've now lost three in a row.

Fort Dodge's loss dropped their record down to 14-7. As for Ankeny Centennial, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fort Dodge will head out to square off against Mason City at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Dodgers are facing the Mohawks at the right time seeing as the Mohawks are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Ankeny Centennial, they will face off against Southeast Polk at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
