Baseball Game Preview: St. Edward Eagles vs. Perkins Pirates

The St. Edward Eagles are taking a road trip to square off against the Perkins Pirates at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Perkins will be up against a hot St. Edward squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. The Eagles' pitchers stepped up to hand Strongsville a 6-0 shutout on Friday. Surprisingly, this marked the fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor in this series.

Oak Harbor typically has all the answers at home, but on Friday Perkins proved too difficult a challenge. They were the clear victors by a 17-4 margin over the Rockets. The Pirates might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten contests by six runs or more this season.

Micah Maldonado looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched.

At the plate, Talon Walton was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in May of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryce Davie, who went 3-for-5 with four runs, two stolen bases, and one triple.

St. Edward's record is now 15-6. As for Perkins, their record now sits at 15-5-1.
