Soccer Game Preview: Salinas vs. Santa Cruz

The Salinas Cowboys and the Santa Cruz Cardinals will compete for holiday cheer at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Salinas is likely headed into the match with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Archbishop Mitty on Saturday. Salinas fell 3-1 to Archbishop Mitty. The loss was the Cowboys' first of the season.

Their goal came courtesy of Morgan Retterer, who's now up to four this season.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Santa Cruz faced off against Presentation on Saturday. Santa Cruz lost 5-0 to Presentation.

Santa Cruz's loss dropped their record down to 0-3-1. As for Salinas, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1-1.

Everything went Salinas' way against Santa Cruz in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, as Salinas made off with a 3-0 win. Will Salinas repeat their success, or does Santa Cruz have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
