Recap: Rosamond Roadrunners vs. Kern Valley Broncs
The Rosamond Roadrunners won the last time they faced the Kern Valley Broncs, and things went their way on Friday too. Rosamond walked away with a 58-51 win over Kern Valley. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Rosamond.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Rosamond to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ariel Cain, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 15 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Cain has scored at least a third of Rosamond's points. Kiley Perez was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with eight rebounds and seven assists.
When it comes to explaining why Kern Valley lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jessie Bunting. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 19 points and 18 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Ava Elliott, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 14 rebounds.
Even though they lost, Kern Valley smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 28 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rosamond only pulled down 14 offensive rebounds.
Rosamond pushed their record up to 12-6 with that victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.8 points per game. As for Kern Valley, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rosamond will take on Desert at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in California (Desert is ranked 526th, while Rosamond is ranked 513th). As for Kern Valley, they will be playing in front of their home fans against California City at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. California City comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 24 points in their last six games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
