Soccer Game Preview: Metter vs. Dodge County

The Metter Tigers will take on the Dodge County Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Metter is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

The home team had won the previous five meetings between Metter and Claxton, and Metter kept the tradition alive. Metter's defense stepped up to hand Claxton a 2-0 shutout on Tuesday. Metter's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last five matches.

Alex Balladares and Jonatan Elizalde scored both of Metter's goals, which were season-firsts for both players.

Meanwhile, Dodge County's game on Tuesday was close up to the half, which is when they kicked things up a notch. Everything went their way against Worth County as Dodge County made off with a 6-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Indians, who have now won three contests by five goals or more so far this season.

Metter's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 20 goals over those four matchups. As for Dodge County, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-4.

Metter came out on top in a nail-biter against Dodge County in their previous matchup back in February, sneaking past 3-2. Does Metter have another victory up their sleeve, or will Dodge County turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
