Basketball Game Preview: Bloomsburg Panthers vs. Loyalsock Township Lancers

The Bloomsburg Panthers will venture away from home to square off against the Loyalsock Township Lancers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Bloomsburg will head into Wednesday's contest on the come-up: they were handed a 34-point loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged Southern Columbia Area out 41-39.

Bloomsburg's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Delaney Zentner, who went 5 of 9 en route to 13 points and six assists. Zentner is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Lucy Maclay, who posted 11 points and six boards.

Meanwhile, Loyalsock Township came tearing into Saturday's game with nine straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 29.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victor by a 45-21 margin over the Tigers. The Lancers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 matchups by 24 points or more this season.

Loyalsock Township pushed their record up to 18-1 with the win, which was their 18th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Bloomsburg, they have also been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 8-9 record this season.

Bloomsburg was dealt a bruising 59-17 defeat at the hands of Loyalsock Township when the teams last played back in January. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Bloomsburg was down 43-9.
