Softball Recap: Seckman Takes a Loss

If Seckman was feeling good fresh off their 15-5 takedown of Parkway North on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Jaguars lost 7-1 to the Festus Tigers on Tuesday. The Jaguars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Ella Martin spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and four unearned) runs on 11 hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 13 consecutive appearances.

Seckman's defeat dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Festus, the victory was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Seckman will head out to challenge Lindbergh at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Festus, they will venture away from home to square off against Jefferson at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
