Soccer Game Preview: Desert vs. Bishop Union

Desert hasn't had much luck against Bishop Union recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Desert Scorpions will welcome the Bishop Union Broncos at 3:00 p.m.

Desert is headed into Thursday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Tuesday. They lost 4-1 to Kern Valley.

Meanwhile, Bishop Union waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They never let the Roadrunners onto the board and left with a 6-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Broncos, who have now won four contests by four goals or more so far this season.

They hit Rosamond with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Brooke Taylor (2), Ashley Sandoval (2), Gabby Veenker, and Alyssa Buchholz.

Bishop Union pushed their record up to 7-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 17 goals over those three games. As for Desert, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.

Desert might still be hurting after the 9-0 defeat they got from Bishop Union when the teams last played back in January of 2024. Can Desert avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
