Recap: Waterford Wildcats vs. Denair Coyotes
The Waterford Wildcats posted their closest victory yet this season on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged Denair out 38-35. The win made it back-to-back wins for Waterford.
Waterford's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Karina De La Torre, who scored ten points. Another player making a difference was Samantha Ward, who scored 11 points.
Denair's loss came despite strong showings from Macie Stucker and Cloey Ellerd. Stucker scored nine points along with four steals and three blocks, while Ellerd scored 13 points along with seven steals. That's the first time this season that Stucker posted two or more blocks.
Waterford's win bumped their record up to 6-11. As for Denair, they bumped their record down to 6-13 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Delhi the next time they take the court. Denair will host Delhi at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while Waterford will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
