Softball Recap: Blue River Wins Going Away Against North Bend Central

Blue River never let their opponents score on Saturday. They put the hurt on the North Bend Central Tigers with a sharp 8-0 victory. The win continues a trend for Blue River in their matchups with North Bend Central: they've now won four in a row.

Abby Lindsley was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over six innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in September of 2024. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, Danica Watts was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and two runs. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in September of 2024. Ashlyn Long was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

Blue River's record is now 3-0. As for North Bend Central, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Coincidentally, Blue River and North Bend Central will both be playing Fort Calhoun the next time they take the field. North Bend Central will head out to face Fort Calhoun at 10:45 a.m. on Saturday, while Blue River will play them later in the day, at 12:30 p.m.
