Basketball Game Preview: Orange Vista Coyotes vs. Hemet Bulldogs

Two dominant guards in Taniyah Hutcherson and Ruby Lindsey are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Orange Vista Coyotes and the Hemet Bulldogs will meet in a canine-themed contest at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Orange Vista has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Having struggled with five losses in a row, Orange Vista turned things around against JW North on Thursday. They came out on top against the Huskies by a score of 53-40.

Hutcherson was her usual excellent self, putting up 40 points. That makes it 13 consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Orange Vista's points.

Meanwhile, Hemet hadn't done well against Rancho Verde recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Hemet enjoyed a cozy 54-35 win over Rancho Verde. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bulldogs.

Hemet's victory bumped their record up to 14-4. As for Orange Vista, their win bumped their record up to 4-10.

Orange Vista came up short against Hemet in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, falling 51-43. Can Orange Vista avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
