The Sweetwater Red Devils will head out to face off against the Morse Tigers at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Sweetwater knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past three matches -- so hopefully Morse likes a good challenge.
Sweetwater is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Lincoln with a sharp 21-4 win on Monday. The Red Devils haven't had any issues with the Hornets recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Audrey Murillo and Tatyana Mosqueda were a major factor no matter where they played. On the mound, Murillo tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Meanwhile, Mosqueda tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, Murillo posted three strikeouts, the most she's had since back in March of 2024. At bat, Murillo scored two runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances, while Mosqueda got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one RBI.
In other batting news, Melanie Lopez was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabriella Sena, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with five RBI, three runs, and one double.
Sweetwater kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 12 hits every time they've taken the field this season.
Meanwhile, Morse came up short against Chula Vista on Monday and fell 5-1. The contest marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.
Like Sweetwater, Morse also got a great game from a two-way player: Alyssa Truby. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. Truby was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles and one stolen base. Those doubles were her first of the season.
Truby wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Thaliamia Richards, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.
Sweetwater's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-0-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Morse, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.
Wednesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Sweetwater hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .472. However, it's not like Morse struggles in that department as they've averaged .321. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Sweetwater might still be hurting after the 6-0 defeat they got from Morse in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Can Sweetwater avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
