Football Game Preview: Grand Rapids Thunderhawks vs. North Branch Vikings

The Grand Rapids Thunderhawks will head out on the road to face off against the North Branch Vikings at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (Grand Rapids 12.8, North Branch 8.8) so any points scored will be well earned.

North Branch will square off against a team with plenty of momentum: Grand Rapids extended their winning streak to three on Friday. The Thunderhawks enjoyed a cozy 34-20 victory over Hermantown.

Meanwhile, North Branch was able to grind out a solid win over Duluth East on Friday, taking the game 22-12. The victory continues a trend for the Vikings in their matchups with the Greyhounds: they've now won five in a row.

Grand Rapids' record now sits at 4-1. As for North Branch, their record is now 5-0.

Grand Rapids came up short against North Branch in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, falling 20-14. Can the Thunderhawks avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
