Volleyball Recap: Winnebago Takes a Loss

Winnebago was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 2-0 to the Lyons-Decatur Northeast Cougars. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Indians of the 2-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

While Winnebago ultimately came up short, they really made Lyons-Decatur Northeast work, particularly in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 27-25.

Ja'Leena Earth paced Winnebago's offense, picking up five kills. Earth were helped by Cassidy Bass and Lula DeCora, who contributed seven assists each. Miliani Bass controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Winnebago's defeat dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Lyons-Decatur Northeast, their victory bumped their record up to 6-10.

Winnebago has already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Tri County Northeast on the 25th. As for Lyons-Decatur Northeast, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Madison on the 30th.
