Troy extended their winning streak to seven on Friday, bumping them up to 8-1. They claimed a resounding 70-29 win over the Central Mountain Wildcats. Considering the Trojans have won seven games by more than 28 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Mason Smith continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 212 yards and five TDs while picking up 11.2 yards per carry, and also throwing for 145 yards and three touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes. Those five rushing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. A healthy portion of Smith's aerial production (87 yards to be exact) went to Trey Teribury.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Troy was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 376 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 266 rushing yards in ten consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

As for Central Mountain, their loss dropped their record down to 0-9. On the bright side, the 29- point effort marked their highest-scoring contest to date.

Despite the loss, Central Mountain still got an impressive performance from Kyle Everett, who threw for 127 yards and a pair of TDs, and also rushed for 54 yards.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Troy will venture away from home to square off against Canton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Trojans are facing the Warriors at the right time seeing as the Warriors are stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Central Mountain, they will head out on the road to take on Jersey Shore at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats will be up against the Bulldogs' rather soft defense (which has allowed 30.56 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
