Basketball Game Preview: Southern Columbia Area Tigers vs. Mount Carmel RED TORNADOES

The Southern Columbia Area Tigers will head out to take on the Mount Carmel RED TORNADOES at 3:15 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Wednesday, Southern Columbia Area ended up a good deal behind Hughesville and lost 59-45. The Tigers haven't had much luck with the Spartans recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Meanwhile, Mount Carmel was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against Loyalsock Township, falling 54-28. While losing is never fun, the RED TORNADOES can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 296th, while the Lancers are ranked 28th).

Southern Columbia Area's loss dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Mount Carmel, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-9.

Things could have been worse for Southern Columbia Area, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 38-22 loss to Mount Carmel when the teams last played on January 7th. Can Southern Columbia Area avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
