Basketball Recap: Lailah Whittle Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Wasco

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against North, Justin Garza was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They secured a 32-27 W over the Wasco Tigers. The win was some much needed relief for the Guardians as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Justin Garza's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lailah Whittle, who posted ten points. Another player making a difference was Ella Maldonado, who put up nine points.

Justin Garza's win bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Wasco, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-4.

Justin Garza will take on Kerman at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Wasco, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Wasco Tigers duke it out with the Eastside Lions at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. Wasco's defense has only allowed 24.8 points per game this season, so Eastside's offense will have their work cut out for them.
