The home team had won the previous four meetings between Evans and Lakeside, and Evans kept the tradition alive. The Evans Knights' defense stepped up to hand the Lakeside Panthers a 3-0 shutout on Friday. Considering the Knights have won four contests by more than two goals this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

They hit Lakeside with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Marcos Pulido Checa, Jeremiah Sturkey, and Roger Portillo.

Evans' record is now 6-0. As for Lakeside, their defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 2-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Evans will square off against Westminster Schools of Augusta at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Westminster Schools of Augusta will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Evans surely won't give up without a fight. As for Lakeside, they will face off against West Forsyth at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
