The East Laurens Falcons will take on the Jefferson County Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
East Laurens' pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They blew past Southwest 12-0. The victory continues a trend for the Falcons in their matchups with the Patriots: they've now won seven in a row.
Jakeb Logue tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over 4.2 innings pitched. That one hit allowed gave him a new career-low.

At the plate, Konner Oneal was a standout: he scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. He is becoming a predictor of East Laurens' success: when he posts at least three hits the team is 2-1 (and 4-9 when he doesn't). Kaden Mimbs was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.
Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last contest, Jefferson County made sure to put some runs up on the board against Central on Tuesday. Jefferson County was the clear victor by a 13-3 margin over Central. Considering the Warriors' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
Trey Davis was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits (and not a single walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.
In other batting news, Mason Tungate was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Jayden Duncan, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
Jefferson County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .594. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Jefferson County's win bumped their record up to 5-10. As for East Laurens, their victory bumped their record up to 6-10.
