While Garden Plain's victory against Haven wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. In a tight matchup that could have gone either way, the Owls made off with a 15-14 win over the Wildcats. The Owls haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Braylen Dold and Emrick Hays. Dold rushed for 149 yards and one score while picking up 8.8 yards per carry while Hays rushed for 125 yards and one TD. Those 149 rushing yards gave Dold a new career-high.

Garden Plain was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 320 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Haven only rushed for 152.

Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Brogan Wray, who threw for 172 yards and one touchdown while completing 72.2% of his passes, and also rushed for 47 yards. A healthy portion of Wray's aerial production (80 yards to be exact) went to Zade Turner.

Garden Plain's record now sits at 4-1. As for Haven, their loss was their first of the season and also makes their record 4-1.

Looking ahead, Garden Plain will face off against Kingman at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Owls will be up against the Eagles' rather soft defense (which has allowed 37.8 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Haven, they will challenge Belle Plaine at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats will be up against the Dragons' rather soft defense (which has allowed 41.4 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
