Softball Recap: Poudre Takes a Loss

Poudre extended their losing streak to ten on Friday, dropping them down to 3-15. They came up short against the Windsor Wizards, falling 23-4. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wizards this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-0 back in August.

As for Windsor, their win was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 17-1. The result was nothing new for the Wizards, who have now won ten matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

For Windsor's part, Addison White made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed five innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off nine hits. White was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in October of 2024.

In other batting news, Kylie Smith was incredible, going 4-for-5 with seven RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Maizie Maga?a also deserves some recognition as she launched her first home run of the season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Poudre will challenge Mountain Range at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Impalas' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Mustangs have averaged an impressive 6.7 runs per game this season. As for Windsor, they will venture away from home to face off against Rocky Mountain at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Lobos have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.05 runs per game on average), something the Wizards will no doubt try to take advantage of.
