Baseball Recap: Kickapoo Takes a Loss

After flying high against Belton on Saturday, Kickapoo came back down to earth. The Chiefs fell just short of the Joplin Eagles by a score of 2-1 on Monday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Chiefs of the 2-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2025.

Kickapoo's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Joplin, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-2.

Looking ahead, Kickapoo will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Carthage at 4:30 p.m. As for Joplin, they will square off against Glendale at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles are facing the Falcons at the right time seeing as the Falcons are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
