Softball Game Preview: Sand Creek Scorpions vs. Pueblo South Colts

The Sand Creek Scorpions will venture away from home to take on the Pueblo South Colts at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Sand Creek is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games.

Sand Creek played against Mitchell on Thursday and won via forfeit.

Pueblo South came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 11-0 to Pueblo County. The loss continues a trend for the Colts in their meetings with the Hornets: they've now lost six in a row.

Pueblo South saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kennedy Camacho-Orona, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one double.

Sand Creek's win bumped their record up to 8-14. As for Pueblo South, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-16.

Sand Creek might still be hurting after the 13-1 loss they got from Pueblo South in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Can the Scorpions avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
