Soccer Game Preview: Louisville vs. Notre Dame (SO)

Louisville is 1-9 against Notre Dame (SO) since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Louisville Royals will head out on the road to square off against the Notre Dame (SO) Knights at 5:00 p.m.

Louisville is headed into Wednesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Friday. They came up short against Sierra Canyon, falling 5-1. While losing is never fun, the Royals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 613th, while the Trailblazers are ranked 70th).

Meanwhile, Notre Dame (SO) waltzed into their contest on Wednesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They walked away with a 4-2 win over the Eagles. The score was all tied up 1-1 at the break, but the Knights were the better team in the second half.

Notre Dame (SO)'s victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-1-2. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 18 goals over those four games. As for Louisville, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-10.

Louisville might still be hurting after the 6-0 loss they got from Notre Dame (SO) when the teams last played on January 3rd. Can Louisville avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
