Baseball Game Preview: Greenbrier Wolfpack vs. Lakeside Panthers

The Greenbrier Wolfpack will head out to face off against the Lakeside Panthers at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Last Friday, Greenbrier came up short against Evans and fell 9-6.

Meanwhile, Lakeside was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 11-1 to Habersham Central, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.

Lakeside got a good showing from Sawyer Green, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Green also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Lakeside is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-9 otherwise.

Greenbrier has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season. Lakeside's defeat dropped their record down to 5-10.

Greenbrier took their victory against Lakeside in their previous matchup back in February of 2024 by a conclusive 7-0. Will Greenbrier repeat their success, or does Lakeside has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
