Football Recap: Del Campo Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Del Campo had lost three straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped down to 2-4 to make it four. They lost to the Placer Hillmen on the road by a 42-26 margin. Despite 75 more yards than the Hillmen, the Cougars couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.

When it comes to explaining why Del Campo lost, don't look at Jackson Morgan. Despite the final result, he threw for 336 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 10.5 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 63 yards. Bryce Smith helped out on the ground, rushing for 103 yards.

As for Placer, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-2. 42 seems to be a good number for them as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.

It was another big night for Danny Sanchez-Harlow, who rushed for 143 yards and three scores on only seven carries, and also picked up 72 receiving yards and one TD. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 74 yards. Shaun Jones was another key player, rushing for 75 yards and one touchdown on only seven carries.

Coming up, Del Campo will square off against Yuba City at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. That contest will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Smith and Ryan Corum. As for Placer, they are taking a road trip to take on Twelve Bridges at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Hillmen will need to watch out since the Raging Rhinos have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
