Soccer Game Preview: Perry vs. North Polk

The Perry Bluejays will face off against the North Polk Comets at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Perry's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Perry is looking to tack another W on to their season record, something they couldn't quite do against Denison-Schleswig on Tuesday. The Bluejays and the Monarchs finished up their matchup with a 0-0 draw.

Meanwhile, North Polk entered their tilt with Earlham on Monday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They came within a single goal of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Cardinals. That's two games straight that North Polk have won by just one goal.

North Polk's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 3-0. The road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored nine goals over those three contests. With that draw, Perry's record moves to 1-2-1.

Perry took their win against North Polk when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 4-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bluejays since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
