Lassen takes loss despite strong efforts from Nellie Ratcliff and Mili Crosno

Recap: Lassen Grizzlies vs. West Valley Eagles

The Lassen Grizzlies suffered their biggest defeat since December 2, 2023 on Wednesday. They had to suffer through a rough 75-39 loss at the hands of West Valley. Lassen was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-19.

Despite the loss, Lassen had strong showings from Mili Crosno, who scored 16 points, and Nellie Ratcliff, who scored eight points along with six steals. Ratcliff is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played.

It was another big night for Kayla Wiley, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and five assists for West Valley. Wiley hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Emily Nolan, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 14 rebounds.

Lassen has not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-14 record this season. As for West Valley, they pushed their record up to 17-6 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lassen will take on Anderson at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Anderson presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Lassen in California (Anderson is ranked 304th, while Lassen is ranked 664th). As for West Valley, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Central Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Central Valley has now lost 12 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 11.
